Mobile MaintiMizer™ is designed for wireless networking, to work with a WiFi enabled Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) such as the Symbol PPT 8846, or an Internet enabled Smartphone or PDA phone such as the AT&T 8525. This technology puts powerful real time information right in the pocket of the mobile worker and gives them the ability to update and create new records. Mobile MaintiMizer™ is installed on your web server with no program installation required on the PDA itself. The product covers four different areas; Work Orders, Inventory, Physical/Cycle Inventory Count, and Receive against a PO.
Work Order Interface
The most common function used in Mobile MaintiMizer™ is work orders. Users are able to query their work orders and scan part numbers attached to the work orders. The user is able to enter notes regarding repairs, log the amount of hours worked, update the work order status, and select a new work order. Parts and store room quantities will be adjusted in real time with any parts that have been withdrawn. Any new work orders that are opened “on the fly” will be assigned the next number in the queue and the data will be saved accordingly.
Inventory Interface
Assigning and tracking parts inventory is very easy. Place the employee and work order number in their respective fields, scan the part number you wish to use, stock room you’ve taken it from, location within that stock room, quantity and finally the account number to charge it against. The inventory transaction and part quantity are updated in a real time.
Physical/Cycle Inventory Count Interface
Using Mobile MaintiMizer™ and a PDA for physical/cycle inventory count can save your staff significant time and help you maintain an accurate inventory. First, scan the stock room and location barcodes. Next, scan the part number and count the actual parts on hand. Finally, enter the number of parts in Mobile MaintiMizer™. After that, move on to the next part and repeat the process until all parts are scanned and counted. Using this process, part quantities are updated in real time.
Receive Against a PO
The receiving function is easily handled by Mobile MaintiMizer™ and a PDA. The user simply looks up a Purchase Order and line item, creates a new receiver, and enters the quantity received. If all items have been received, the status can be changed to Closed. The user may select to post to the default or alternative stockroom, or to a work order where appropriate.
